Homework quiestons

1.A natural disaster that can affect people in Australia can be a cyclone. It is a huge storm with wind that spins around and around. It destroys everything in the area. It can destroy everything in sight, including, homes, people, animals and buildings. Just like any other natural disaster in Australia, A cyclone is a terrible natural disaster and people just wish they had never existed.

2.Cyclones develop over warm seas near the equator. Air heated by the sun rises very swiftly, which creates areas of very low preasure.
When warm air rises from the seas and condenses into clouds, massive amounts of heat are released.

3.Cyclones can destroy just about anything. If you are unlucky the Cyclone will suck you or your house and your furniture. These winds can cause extensive property damage and cause airborne debris to become potentially lethal missiles. The damaging winds can cause sea levels to rise. The water can cause even more damage, such as Floods.

4.Pepole respond to this disaster badly or many other emotions. Some feel sad and depressed, as they may have lost loved ones and precious belongings. They may also feel thankful for what they do have. Communities pull together to help each other out.

5.Tropical cyclones are possibly the most feared natural disaster to affect Australia. Their destructive winds, Torrential rains, Storm surges, and Wild seas have affected communities and travellers in their paths. However as they move inland, they start to weaken as they lose contact with the warm tropical ocean that they need to sustain them.
In 1974, a severe cyclone hit the top of Darwin early on 25th of December. Cyclone Tracy
49 people were killed in the city and a further 16 perished at sea.
